The Rata tree blooms a particularly spectacular display of red in mass about once every 5 years.
One of the bee’s favourite honey for when it flowers they will fly many kilometres over other flowers to feast on the rich abundance of nectar from the Rata.
It is exceptionally sweet, smooth and soft to the pallet. A particular favourite amongst beekeepers.
